Microwaves are emitted by various astrophysical sources in the Universe. Stronger microwaves are emitted by megamasters and the centers of the galaxies. Especially intense and luminous galactic centres are knoen as active galactic nuclei. They are in turn thought to be driven by the presence of supermassive blackholes, which drag surrounding material inwards and spit out bright jets and radiation as they do so.

The two galaxies shown here imaged by NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope are named as MCG0138004 (The upper one) and MCG0138005 (the lower one). They are the special kind of megamasters, the galaxy pumps huge amount of energy which stimulates clouds of surrounding water, Water's constituent atoms of hydrogen and oxygen are able to absorb some of this energy and re emit it as specific wavelengths, one of which falls in microwave regime. This megamaster is invisible to Hubble but, it can be detected by Microwave Telescopes. MCG0138005 is also known as Water Megamaster.
Astronomers use the microwave emission from megamasters to calculate the Hubble Constant and to determine the rate of expansion of the Universe. The Hubble Constant was named after the astronomer whose discovery is responsible for the expansion of the Universe. And the Hubble Space Telescope was named after the astronomer, Edwin Hubble.
